2004-11-01 - 8:40 p.m. a masquerade solo A little over a year ago I wrote that one would have to show me, in my biographical film, tentatively trying on a bandana for the first time for my new job. Later, in the warm October of 2004, the producer would follow my footsteps, remarking on the change from black tennis shoes--outworn six months ago--to the tasteful black pumps. One might let me come into full view in my new tonal striped suit. Would you recognized me from a year ago? I feel like I am in someone else's shoes. It is just another costume that I change out of only for exercise and on the weekends. What's next? Will I return to jeans, a farm shirt, and boots for tending to my vineyards? Will my costume be white, maternity clothes, an apron? More suits?
