News has it that Dr. DeLater is fired due to relations with a student.
No surprise really, after the strangeness of a few weekends ago as he pursued and bestowed expensive gifts upon an alum and friend of mine. She, rightfully, was confused by his behavior, and no one clearly understood his intentions.
Last week he started coming to classes a little off his rocker-- so I am told. It’s a funny thing what storms occur in the hearts of men when they lose all sense of wrong and right. They persist in doing wrong like a drug as the storm builds, and I do, I really do, wonder why we feed on wrong-doing as it rips our souls asunder.
I recognize the temptations to walk off the course, but the more I think of the end-results of living well or living wrong, I wonder why we find it so easy to steer ourselves wrong. In theory, the choice is easily made; but in practice, stories after stories show, the choice is difficult. I am sick of it all.
