2003-07-26 - 8:16 p.m. Five Canadian geese waddled across the main intersection of Eisenhower and State Street in Ann Arbor this afternoon. I burst out laughing in the midst of telling Stephanie about my exciting day. So much has happened since I woke up this morning this life hardly seems my own. I could go on and on about my first day at work, I know this because I already have. It didn't seem like that much as it was happening. As I walked out the door, clutching my check, wondering how to scrounge up enough cash to pay for my parking, I turned on my phone and received an urgent message from Jeremy. Within ten minutes I was committed to a rescue trip to Pittsburg, PA. Why did I think my travels were over for the summer? So then I wandered down the street to find the apartment of my new friend. Over a cup of white tea I grew to like her immensely. Genuine balsamic vinegar is made from grape juice. Traditionally served over strawberries, it is truly a gift for gods. Allison said that if one thing could be used to improve your cooking, it would be to use good salt. I have got to give that a try. But the possibilities were so endless, like the salt, like blue cheese on raisun walnut bread, like one olive oil versus another for shrimp linguini, like quince (jelly) and Spanish cheese, like Sherry and a smorgesboard of cheeses, dried fruit, and apple, like red rice and rare saffron. The possibilities, in all truth, were overwhelming, so I turned my back on them for the day. My soda bottle cap read, "The current year will bring you much happiness." I believe it.
