2003-05-20 - 10:42 p.m. --- thinks that women should be wives and mothers. He will be sorely disappointed then when one of his daughters, if he has daughters, is the politically driven. Anyway, he wants to send all his girls out to Christendom college to find good husbands. I have heard of girls going places for their Mrs. Degree, but never of a father sending his daughter for one. That's damn expensive, plus the cost of a wedding which he incurs as the bride's father. I laughed today at this idea of sending a daughter to undergraduate college for a husband when just the other day I told --- to definately wait for someone older. Wait for someone who is on his way somewhere so she does not have to go through the transition stage. It is true that women are ready, or are more certain they are, for committment at an earlier age. Experience and observation tells me that one is simply setting one's self up for a lot of pain if you want to find a man in college. And it is not, as one friend would have it, that you only know each other in the college frame of life. If you are serious, then you are also taking that time to visit family on vacations, or over summers. What I discovered was that there, in the summer months, outside the college frame, was fantastic. Maybe the time was even less real than college, but really, neither time was reality, just vacation. Crazy, stressful vacation, but vacation. So I view that idea of yours with skepticism too.
